About NinjaFinder

Why NinjaFinder?

NinjaFinder is designed for two groups of people. Those who are looking for creatives, both to work with or to hire, and the creatives themselves. If you are reading this you probably fall into one of these categories, or often, both.

If you are looking for creatives, to hire, for internships, or maybe just to collaborate on a project, there wasn't an easy way to actually search, review and contact who you liked. NinjaFinder does that, and also goes further by allowing you to keep track of who you like for a future opportunity. It helps you not only find your Ninjas, but also keep track of them.

If you are a creative, NinjaFinder was designed to help you manage your professional creative profile and help you get more work and pay. We've heard enough times where the right gig and the right creative never lined up. Or how a designer is looking for work, and across town a company can't find one. One example: we all get behind on updating our portfolios, so we build a recent work system where you can just plug in your latest and greatest.

NinjaFinder has been designed to connect creatives with each other, for more work, regardless if it is a job or not. Our Blackbook feature allows you to keep track and manage your creative contacts, so the next time you need to find a ninja to help you, they are right there at your fingertips.

Third party introductions through staffing agencies are often too expensive, or don't help the up and coming artists and creatives. Often it's just hard checking everyone's schedule to see who is available. Even negotiation of rates can be so stressful because the client and creative have very different starting points.

Another problem was the number of portfolio sites. NinjaFinder is not a portfolio site. There are many that are great in showing off your work. But employers often can't find which one you are on, especially when they are pressed for time. NinjaFinder helps collect all of them, and provides a system to organize links to them so employers can find them. Its about centralization of your online creative presence to best get you found and working.

This is why we started NinjaFinder. We just got tired of the way things were and we feel we can improve it.

I really hope you enjoy NinjaFinder. I hope it helps you to get more work and create better work, both as a creative or as a company that works with creatives.

Best wishes in all your projects,

Justin Sherratt

FAQs:

What is the ideal image size for the profile and portfolio images?

When an image is uploaded we create 3 versions:

For Portfolio Images:

Thumb: 160x120

Full: 640x480

Huge: 800x600

This is used for a thumbnail, the display on profile and then finally the enlarged/clicked through. Actual render size may differ slightly based on the popover window width/height.

For Profile Images:

Thumbnail: 30x30

Thumb: 160x120

Full: 640x480

Keep in mind that aspect ratio is important here if you want to avoid the system putting black bars around the image.

What's the difference between employer sign up and creative sign up?

The Creative sign up is to create a profile listing in our database so that others may search for you, employers, in-house recruiters and also other creatives that want to collaborate on a project can look for you on NinjaFinder. The employer signup (which might soon be called simply "Seeker"), is only necessary if an employer wants to start to manage their searches, the creatives they have found, or if they also want to utilize the one click contact system that automatically contacts the creatives that you have selected.
